Secrets

Secrets are just the best thing in the world. Especially when it's an absolutely hilarious one. So hilarious, in fact, that I think I might actually burst.

In other news...
Someone, somewhere really doesn't want me to do anything on a computer today. First blogger wasn't working, and now it's msn!! What's going on?!?!

Favourite albums

After reading Sven's post about his favourite albums, I decided to join in. Mine are:

Foo Fighters - One by One.
I listened to this in repeat when I was reading the Lord of the Rings, so everytime I hear a song it makes me think of a different part of the book. And it's my favourite story EVER, so that's a good thing.

John Mayer - Room for Squares.
It reminds me of last summer at colege, which was awesome. It's got some really good songs on it.

United - all of them.
Most of you will never of heard of them, but they're awesome and I saw them in the summer when I was staying at Christiana's. I know it's cheating saying all of them, but I really don't care, they're all great, especially the last two.

So, what are your favourite 2-3 albums?

WOW

Haha this is funny

I found this on my sisters blog (she's trainging to be a teacher so has been in a school this week)...

Oh the little darlings in my class. A conversation today (in a lesson I was observing) looking at the creation story;

Teacher: So [just discussed what happened on days 1-6] what happened on the 7th day?

Jack: God created McDonalds

seriously that is what was said.

That made me laugh so much. haha

Thing you didn't know about me #4

I love chicken. Chicken Broccoli au gratin to be exact. Mmmmmm. I'm not kidding, if all chickens were wiped off the face of the world I would want to die. You know the saying 'it's the best thing since sliced bread'? Well guess what? Chicken is better than silly sliced bread. So there.

Bummer

Ok, so I did do some revision today, but not that much because I ended up playing mario kart AGAIN and watching half of Schindlers list instead. Oh well. There goes another day.

Update

I finally got to hand in all of my coursework on Friday, so now all I have to do is revision (ok, so I have some french essays to do, but I've lost the sheet with the questions on so they don't count) and it feels quite nice. Jack still hasn't handed in his IT - I'd be in the middle of a panic attack if I was in his position. Good luck Jack! So anyway, I wasted most of this afternoon playing mario kart which was lots of fun. And I did some revision for my business studies this evening which is good. I worked out that I only need another 96 points to get a B, so if all goes well on the exam day, I should be fine!

It's an exeat weekend next weekend (basically where we get chucked out and have to find somewhere to sleep for a few days) and I'm staying at Gemma's house. Only thing is, she's not going to be there for most of it. And I don't think her housemates are either. So I'm going to be pretty bored and lonely. I'll have to find something constructive to do I guess. Any suggestions?

Pollyanna loves George!! (ooh I hope he reads this!! hehe)

Bobbie

When I was younger, I used to pretend that I had a little duckling called Bobbie. I always knew that he wasn't really real, but I liked to play along anyway. He must have been squished by my brother and sisters loadsof times, but somehow, he always managed to survive. I lost Bobbie quite a long time ago, but have managed to find him again, on the Internet of all places!! Feel free to play with him, tell him stories and secrets, or click on him and watch him jump. I think he's lovely. You can adopt a pet too, if you like.

adopt your own virtual pet!

Thing you didn't know about me #3

I can't bare the thought that one day my hair might not be blonde anymore. If it goes g*****r (I can't even bring myself to say the word) I think I'll have a heart attack. I'd have to dye it.

Visitors

I had a Danish and a Maltese visitor today, among other boring ones. How exciting! United Kingdom ones are winning, with America in second place.

The 6 o'clock BBC News, with George Alagiah and Sophie Raworth

This evening, the message ‘my mum is not my butler’ was found written on a table in a College classroom. The message, which is believed to have been written by aliens and in some sort of code, has baffled cleaners and scientists alike.

Two plasters were also found stuck to the floor, by the same cleaners. The College will be putting out a statement in the morning concerning the decrease in levels of hygiene and urging students to consider their general behaviour in the future. If this occurs again, the cleaners assure that someone WILL be shot.

According to posters around College, this week will mark the first ever Peter Symonds College Mass Debating session debate entitled ‘Men vs Women. Come one! Come all!’, sponsored by Kleenex. The debate is believed to be being held in the Science Lecture Theatre on Friday at 1pm. We, here at the BBC, will not be responsible for any humiliation caused due to attending this event. However, we hope that the staff at the College will locate the culprit and remove the posters as soon as possible.

In other news, Beaky walked all the way into town just to give her sister a bag this afternoon. Soon after she was presented with the ‘Sister of the Year Award’, for being so kind and wonderful. In an interview that we managed to have with her earlier, she said:

‘Oh wow, I’m so pleased with this! I’ll put the trophy with all of my others on my shelf at home. I’d like to thank, ummm, actually no, I’ll take all the credit. After all, I am very near to being perfect and completely deserved it.’

We agreed.

NEWS JUST IN!

Apparently Mr Christian Williams will be making the long journey back to Winchester in the summer, and will be staying for approximately two weeks. Reports reveal that the Flodgers are pleased with the news, and are looking forward to the excitement that will result from the visit.

Good evening and thank you for watching (reading). Please join us again for more news on BBC 1 at 10pm.

I've decided....

....that any song that you shout 'WHOA' in the middle of, has got to be great.

The most awesome weekend!

Well, most weekend, I sit around and do nothing, but it seems that my ambition to have a more interesting life is starting to come true! I had a great weekend. Friday night I boogied on down with some friends, staurday I went to Southampton, did a bit of shopping and went to the cinema. Might sound boring, but I was with my friends, and we had loads of fun. Can't miss out Sunday though, it was the best of the lot!!! Went to London with my sister and some of her friends, it was great. Matt Redman is awesome, and delirious! It was so much fun. We entertained everyone on the tube by being, well, very silly, that's all I will say!

Being in London is like being on a different planet, it's so strange. You can do anything, and nobody even cares!! For example:

- We were the only ones that noticed the man wearing rollarboots, dancing along to music through his headphones
- It smells like pee
- There was a man playing volleyball in Hyde Park, who was wearing the tightest, smallest shorts I have ever seen. Actually, I don't think you can even call them shorts. ew!
- About 70% of the people that I saw were foreign. The majority were Australian, which I'm definitely not complaining about, it's the coolest accent in the world!

I could go on about how weird London is, but I guess most of you probably know that already...

Me as a baby

Go here to see pictures of my brothers childhood. I'm the 'bump' in number 7 and the baby in the very last picture, number 9, (yes, I know, I'm winking in it, don't laugh). Hopefully I might be able to get some pictures on here of when I was a baby sometime. That'll be a nice treat for you all.

Thing you didn't know about me #1

My friends actually think that if I was an animal, I would be a deer. And yes, VJ, not just any deer, but a baby one. You couldn't have picked a better animal to get me to post about if you tried.

Re: all of the falklands comments

Ok, so maybe I should have read over that post before I posted it. It wasn't supposed to be offensive. You guys know that I would never say anything about it that was mean unless it was in a jokey way!

And Hughz, that was just plain mean, I agree with Ally. What I said wasn't really harsh, I just didn't phrase what I was trying to say very well. It was supposed to be light-hearted. Just because I said it seems like it's another planet half the time, that doesn't make it a bad thing!! I thought you guys knew me better than to take it so seriously!

And to whoever wrote the comment about german forces people etc etc, I never once said that the Falklands wasn't a nice place. And I never would say that. I'm sure that it is a very nice place to live. As for what you said about the 'german forces people':
a) I am not forces
b) I am NOT german!

Let's just forget that I ever even posted that. For anyone that took major offense to that, you don't know me as well as you thought you did. When am I ever serious??? haha

Teddy

All through childhood (and even now) I loved my teddy. I have been tortured by my brother and sisters for pretty much the whole of my life. But this (which I just remembered about) took it just that little bit too far. That's just cruel. Yes, you should still feel ashamed. Teddy never deserved any of that, especially being put in the microwave!!!

www.freewebs.com/deadted

They obviously had far too much free time when they made this. But still, I found it funy so I guess it's ok.

The Falkland Islands

I live with quite a lot of Falkland Island students (they come over to England because they have no 6th form school over there). Well, anyway, all that I really wanted to say is, that no matter how much they defend themselves, it wont change the image of the islands that I have in my head. From what I've heard of their conversations, which is quite a lot, they live in one of the strangest places in the world. And I'm not talking about all of the penguins and seals that wonder around either... I'm not trying to offend anyone, but as a person who has never actually been there and who consequently only has any experience of the place from the people that are here, I can say that it seems like another planet half the time.

I'm not even going to go into details about anything, but (ok I know you're not all the same, so don't shout at me for saying this) there seems to be some messed up people down there. And I don't just mean S****!(I'm not saying her name, because that's just mean!) Maybe I shouldn't be writing this on here, because some of you will probably read it, but hey, I can only base my opinion on what I've heard! Maybe I'm only ever there when someone's telling one of the more, ummm, extreme stories.

Actually, I know I'm not the only one who thinks it seems unreal. But I still love you guys, so I guess it's ok.

And I'm not going to judge you on that 'Falkland Theme Dinner' that we just had, because that wouldn't be fair. It was so gross. I know you could never cope eating that stuff everyday (especially the fish that's still looking at you while you eat it, and still supporting a rather large set of teeth). Just stick with the normal food, ok?

I'd just like to say this again: If you live in/have been to the Falklands, then don't defend it against what I just said, I know it's not like everything is wrong with it, what I've said is purely built on what I've been told about it, so don't argue.

Good job i didn't even start on the subject of sheep...

...I have a feeling I'm going to regret even mentioning the Falklands on my blog. hmmm, well I'm sure we'll see!

I lost my job today. I was gutted.

Today has been one crazy day. Firstly, Jenny got a phone call saying that me and Kayleigh had to go and see Dave (the guy we work for who is quite scary). A few people we know had already lost their jobs, so we kinda guessed what was coming (ok, so the job is only cleaning, but it's here in college so we don't have to go far, and we get paid for 2 hours everyday, even though it only takes about 45 minutes, so in other words, it's awesome). Anyway, we go to Daves office and he tells us the bad news. It was so annoying.

We didn't even get any notice because we're 'temporary' he can just fire us whenever he likes. So anyway, I'm kinda thinking, 'Poo. There's no way I'm going to be able to find another job in winchester, there's not long until I leave, but I really need one!'. I spent the rest of the day feeling a bit bummed, but I did most of what was left of my french coursework and finished another french essay which is a good thing, and went downstairs to have a chat. Then, all of a sudden we get another phone call:

(And I quote:)
'Kayleigh and Becky better get there arses down here if they want there job back'

Of course then I went running upstairs to put my stripy cow slippers back in my room and get some proper shoes on and we went over to see Dave again. We thought he was angry about something because of how he asked us to go and see him. That's how scary he is, he's the kind of person who you can never tell whether he's being nice or secretly really evil. They are the worst kind of person, you can never quite make up your mind about them. I just try to never speak to him so that he doesn't suddenly turn into a massive green monster and eat me or something. Anyhoooo... Fortunately, the guy that was suppose to take over from us hadn't turned up, so we got our jobs back! Yay! I was so glad. Dave wasn't going to eat me after all!

Bet you don't know many people who have been sacked and then un-sacked all in one day, do you? hehe yippee

Also, I was my own 2000th visitor today. Even though it was me that was visiting my own page, I still felt proud. I had a sort of warm 'ooh' glow inside. It was nice. And then I got over it.

Sunday, April 10, 2005

Well that was a shock!

In the common room downstairs they are watching a programme on the tv (this wasn't a film by the way, it was real tv!). On the screen there was a lady holding a really cute little rabbit, who was eating out of someone's hand. (I don't know why my life seems to have evolved around rabbits this week hmmm)...

Me: 'Awww! A rabbit! How cute! Look! LOOK!'

The woman on the tv then got a massive knife and chopped its head clean off, literally as I had finished my sentence.

Me: *GASP! My mouth drops open and I go silent*

Harry: Umm... I don't think you were really expecting that, were you?

Me: *I exit the room very promptly, very, very shocked*, I can't believe that just happened! I'm not watching anymore of this! *Whilst doing my 'I-sound-like-I'm-crying-but-I'm-joking-but-am-still-sad-and-shocked-about-it' thing*

I think Harry just laughed. I can't believe it! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! It was such a nice rabbit too.

I'm Starting Over

With thanks to Valancy Jane, I've decided to change my life. I'm going to make it much more interesting than what it is right now. I don't think that I'm a boring person, but when I compared all the things that I do and that I write in my blog with what VJ does and writes about in her blog, I realised that I'm definitely lacking in something! Ok, so what do I do? Here's what VJ said about making life more random and therefore eventful and interesting:

Randomness is like a muscle, which must be exercised regularly. Take responsibility for amusing yourself if you feel bored. Make friends with the guy in the corner that smells of pee. Push peoples buttons occasionally. Do anything that you are afraid of. Never miss an opportunity to make a memory.

I think it's good advice. And I'm going to do what I can to make my life more random, just so that I can blog about it. Hmm that's a bit sad isn't it. Maybe I should have said I'd do it for my own satisfaction and the happiness of others. Oh well, I can do it for all those reasons!

Ok, well it's easy to say all of those things that I should do, but where do I start? Even if I did 'make friends with the guy in the courner that smells of pee', would I even have anything to talk about. I mean, I don't really have any hobbies. Not proper ones anyway. I hang out with my friends, I read sometimes, I like music, but there's not really anything else that I do. Maybe the first thing that I need to tackle is me being lazy. I'm not the laziest person in the world or anything, but I've decided to try and become less lazy so that I can get out there and actually do something for once. Maybe if I start doing the odd thing like being generally more helpful inthe way of offering to do things for people and watching less tv etc, I'll eventually be able to stop being lazy, get active and make my life much more interesting. Instead of sitting around and complaining that I'm bored, I'll do something fun! There are a few things that will stop me though:

- I'm still at college and I board there so it's not like I have the freedom or opportunities to do certain things
- I'm only 17
- I can't drive and even if I could I wouldn't be able to afford a car
- I'm not really brave enough to do something, well... really different.
- And I don't have an amazing boyfriend that leaves me millions of roses like JR did that I can blog about all day, although it would be nice. haha Yes, VJ is very lucky.

Well. I need to set targets if I'm going to have a more random and interesting life. It'll probably take time. but here are my first targets:

1. Combat being lazy by a) watching less tv when I'm at college b) being more helpful

2. Find a new hobby that is constructive. hmmm maybe I should start running. I need to get fit. Even though I'm thin I've somehow managed to become one of the most unfittest people on the planet. Not sure how I managed that. I have the craziest metabolism ever. It doesn't matter how much cake I eat, I'm still the same. I suppose that's a good thing though. I'd probably be unhappy if I was fat. Still, it's not that nice when people include 'ew' in a sentence when they say that your thin, either. Oh well, I'm working on it.

I wonder how I'll get on in this... I'll keep posting my progress. But pray for me guys, I'm gonna die here!

Ok, so this did start off as me wanting to make my blog a bit more interesting. But it seems I need to change the whole of my life in order to do so... hmmmm I probably sound so lame.

The Tale Of The Lost Rabbit....

Me and Gemma were just sitting watching tv after dinner when Gemma suddenly noticed a rabbit in the garden. I obviously got up to look, cause I'm a sucker for anything small furry and cute and I noticed that there were actually 2 rabbits. They were running around chasing each other like they were happy little friends, but one of them had floppy ears, which obviously meant it had run away - it wasn't wild likje the other one. My mum rang someone to see if it was their rabbit, and it was, so me and my dad went to try and rescue it but it ran away! I've been walking around for the last half an hour saying 'Mummy, can we please get a rabbit. Please??Pleeeeaaase????'. Unfortunately the answer was no. But, 'You can get a rabbit when you move into your new house!!', to which dad's reply was 'mmm, yes. We can have rabbit stew'. And he was being serious. I'm not best pleased. I'll constantly be looking out of the window to see if it comes back. The wild one (aka Billy) has already come back (obviously in search of his lost love, who I have named Jemima) . . .

. . . literally as soon as I had finished writing that sentence, I looked out of the window. 'DAAAAAAD!!! THE RABBITS ARE BACK!!!' I then ran downstairs and into the garden. After about 10 minutes of running and moving around and climbing over fences, Jemima (who's actual name is Fudge) is back in her little house. It turns out that all 4 of their rabbits had escaped. 2 of them have now been caught, but the others are probably miles away already. They're half wild though, so they'll probably be ok. Also, when I saw it out of the window it was with the wild rabbit again and we all know what that means!! BABIES!!!! The little kids reaction at the house when we took it back was 'Not another one!!!! She's already had 4 litters!!' I thought it was quite amusing.

I've got my heart set on having a rabbit now. *sigh*

The World Of Sven Hart Beat Gallery Competition

This is for anyone that reads my blog. Or any other random person that passes by for that matter. Go to www.worldofsven.blogspot.com and vote for which picture you think should win. My entry was amazing, even though I do say so myself (It's entitled 'Me and My Best Friend' and has a picture of me with my teddy, just incase you wanted to know). Just take a look and leave comment on the one you think should win.

I don't think it's too late to enter either. I think the only rule is that it has to look like it's been done by a child. This is for all those disappointed people that sent pictures in when they were little that never got shown on tv! Nows you're chance to actually win something! (Note: the prize is actually only the satisfaction of being 'the winner'.) I voted for Kerrier, but please vote for me - I WANT TO WIN!!

Howdy

I've been playing the Sims for quite a while this evening (there's nothing else to do here apart from eating and sleeping!) and accidentally left myself signed in on msn. When I realised, I looked and had loads of messages from different people. Tom's was so hilarious that I nearly cried and I've even saved it so that I can read it again one day! Oh, I need to get out more...

Oh and some horible news that I forgot to write about before... My parents have recently bought a German house quite near to where we live now, but they were saying that they might move in soon instead of renting it out. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I don't want to leave this house! It's the only house I can ever remember living in. I don't want them to move out. I suppose it wouldn't be as bad if we were moving away completely, back to England, but it's only 5 minutes away so when I'm here I'll know that my lovely house is just down the road!

I should really be getting to bed. It's 1am. Night!

The Crazy World of Granny Bummley

As I said in my last post, it was my Grandma's 80th birthday on monday, so we all went to her house to celebrate it. She'd never admit it, but she's finally gone bonkers. Here are a few wxamples of wht we've had to chuckle t in the last week (All Grandma's parts have to be said in a Yorkshire accent, or it doesn't work) :

1. Gemma: Happy Birthday Grandma!
Grandma:Happy Birthday, love!

2. Grandma: Gemma! Gemma! Come here!
*Gemma removes herself from infront of the tv to see what the excitement is about*
Grandma: Don't worry, love, there's plenty of almond paste.
Gemma: Umm, ok. *Walks out, very, very confused*

3. *Everyone is sat in the lounge when Grandma walks in*
Grandma: You know, I think your Grandad's losing it, he's not brought any milk.
Us: No, it's ok, we told him not to, mum's going to ASDA.
Grandma: *Goes on for 5 minutes about how Grandad is 'losing it'*
Us (in our heads): No Grandma, its you who's away with the fairies.

4. 101 Dalmations is on the tv, it's the afternoon, and Gradma is relaxing with a cup of tea. Then she suddenly falls asleep, throwingh her tea EVERYWHERE. then she wakes up, having no idea how she managed to get soaked with her tea (it had gone cold because she'd been sat there so long)

5. Me and Gemma (singing): SMELLY CAT, SMEEELLY CAT, WHAT ARE THEY FEEDING YOU? etc etc
*Grandma sticks head round door*: Miaow!

I could go on, and on and on and on, but I have to go I'm afraid. Even if it doesn't seem funny in this post, it was hilarious in real life!

Beaky Has Returned!!

I've just spent the last week in my grandparent's house with my sisters which has been quite, ummm, interesting. I'll put it this way - me and my sisters are usually silly, so there was that, mixed with my grandma, who is bonkers. Quite a strange place to be... Anyway. I didn't get up to that much (Barnsley isn't the greatest place in the world for having fun) but I met up with christiana last saturday which was nice and it was my Grandma's 80th birthday on Monday so we went for a meal. And, this may come as a shock to many of my friends, especially Michael because I always complain.... but I WENT TO WATCH A FOOTBALL MATCH!!! It was Barnsley vs Walsall, and we won 3-2! hahaha. But don't worry, I won't make a habit of it.

The last week at college was great fun, thanks guys. Pikey is now talking Irish half of the time which made it that extra bit more fun! haha. Congratulations to Tom who's dreams have come true - his letter has been printed in the X-men comic.

I think I'll have a very good nights sleep tonight. I only got about 5 hours last night because it was absolutely freezing and I've been travelling in a car for the past billion years. Yes, we drove all the way from Barnsley to Osnabruck. Not nice.
