OOH 6000 VISITORS! GREAT!

Shame the 6000th one was me after I did that last post though, isn't it?

A little help, please?

Ok, so I know the 'one for sorrow, two for joy etc, etc' rhyme that everyone says when they see magpies, but what is it when there are 11 magpies and a squirrel?

Thing you didn't know about me #16

If I'm asleep, then DON'T SHINE A TORCH IN MY FACE TO SEE IF I'M AWAKE OR NOT. I will completely ignore you. And if you're someone that I either a) know well or b) aren't scared of, I will smack you with my pillow and/or fists.

You have been warned. I don't appreciate it.

I've been tagged!

My wonderful brother Sven has tagged me.

10 years ago: I was 8 years old and had just started learning the violin. I was just your average crazy 8 year old girl that loved ponies and watching Disney films. Hmm I haven't changed much since the, have I?

5 years ago: I was 13 years old and was at Woodhouse Grove in Bradford. Life in the 3rd form was pretty average really, we spent our days laughing about absolutely and occasionally watching boys beat each other up in the locker room. I seem to remember having a day when we were 'at war' with Sam. He smelt very strongly of Barbie perfume by the end of the day mwahahaha

1 year ago: Wow this time one year ago was amazing. I was at college with my friends having fun everyday. Even though all we used to ever do was complain that we were bored, I recently realised the massive impact that those guys have had in my life. Seeing them this weekend brought it al back! *tear*

Yesterday: It was brilliant. I met up with my friends from cu and we all went to the cinema to watch the new Wallace and Gromit film. It was great, if you haven't seen it yet them I reccommend that you do so very soon! We all went to Weatherspoons afterwards. We had some extremely random conversations and ate nice food and then made our way back to Norfolk Park. Most people left my house at about 12pm, but Dan had missed his train so he satyed behind with Luke and we watched 'The Transporter'. They then left and Dan had a nice night on Luke's floor! It was a really good night. I can tell I'm going to be really good friends with these guys by the time I'm finished.

5 snacks I enjoy:
1. Chocolate
2. Massive bowls of salad
3. Garlic Bread
4. Hot Chocolate
5. Pepperami

5 songs I know the words to:
1. Guide Me Great Jehovah (we sang that SOOOOO many times at school, I know all 3 verses)
2. My God - United
3. A Whole New World - Aladdin
4. If You're Not The One - Daniel Bedingfield
5. Against All Odds - Phil Collins

5 things I'd do with £100 million:
1. Pay off the student loans of me and all my friends and also upgrade my accommodation and get the Internet in my room!!
2. Buy my parents 2 nice houses to retire in, one in France and the other somewhere nice like the dales or cornwall or something
3. Go on holiday
4. Give a few million to each member of my family
5. Make Disney have me as one of the characters in their next film (main character, that is. And yes, I would have to be either a) a princess or b) a fairy

5 places I'd run away to:
1. Germany, because that means I have everything done for me
2. Garmisch, I love it down there it's my favourite place
3. Australia
4. South Africa
5. Ireland

5 things I'd never wear:
1. a skirt like I saw someone wearing today. It was so short that the pocket material showed underneath, how silly is that?
2. anything very bright orange
3. the back end of a pantomine horse
4. a chav cap
5. big, gold loopy earrings

5 biggest joys:
1. Being with my college friends, I want to marry them all, seriously
2. getting to see christiana aain and being considered one of their family
3. listening to my united cds - never fails to put a smile on my face
4. Knowing that my silliness is brightening up someone elses day
5. Cuddles with mama

5 favourite toys:
1. Philip, my computer
2. My mobile phone
3. My mini hi-fi at home
4. My ring
5. Teddy, mind you he's more a a best friend than a toy (yes, I am 18 years old, and yes I still love my teddy just as much as (maybe even more than) when I was 6.

I tag the following people:
Nobody because everyone that I know in the blogging world has already been tagged!

I love...........

............ that you came up to Sheffield, I had the best weekend ever...........

............ that I feel like I've known you all my life........

............ that even when we're all 65 we'll still see each other and all we'll do is sit and giggle at each other all day simply because we have wrinkles and gray hair...............

............ how I know what you're all thinking, even before you say it most of the time..............

............ how we kiss and cuddle on average 1000 times a day.............

............ how even though we have seen each other for ages and our lives are completely different we're still exactly the same around each other................

............ that even if one of us has a problem with someone you can just say it to them and we're over it within 5 minutes............

............ the way that Jess described them as 'our boys' .............

............ the fact that I love you so much that it can be overwhelming at times...........

............ that we will always think each other is hilarious. You make me laugh so much of the time, but you can make me cry just as easily..........

............ that you know how weird I really am............

............ that we beat each other up and don't care if the other person ends up bleeding because it's all in the name of fun (apart from me of course, because I'm pathetic, I'd end up crying)........

............ how you shouted 'LOVE YOU' as loud as you could down the phone at me, even though I'd only gone to home to have a shower and I was going to see you about 10 minutes afterwards.............

............ that squeezing/patting each others bums is like a daily ritual when we're together.............
............ the 'see-through hat'..................

............ the fact that we're all disgusting and we don't care. I could quite happily belch as loud as I could in front of you and wouldn't even be slightly bothered that you thought it was gross, the only other people that I'm like that with is my family, you should feel privileged!.............

............ that you understand me............

............ that you're my friends and you're more special than any other group of people I have ever met...........

............ that I love you and that you love me back..........

Some annoying things about here.....

- My house mate that is hardly ever here is annoying. I'm sure he's a really nice guy usually, but coming home at midnight and putting your RUBBISH HIP HOP TRASH on VERY loud when I'm trying to sleep isn't going to get anyone in my good book. I swear he has the most massive speakers inthe world, I've never heard music with so much bass in my life.

- Oh yes, and the way that I can tell that he has come home is when I can smell cigarette smoke/weed in my room. Yum, just what I want to be breathing in in my own bedroom.

- Oh, and the last thing about him. the last time I checked, I thought fridges were for putting food in. They still are, aren't they? No? Really? Hm well apparently not anymore! IF HE PUTS ALL HIS BEER IN THE KITCHEN FRIDGE ONE MORE TIME SO THAT WE CAN'T GET ANY FOOD IN I'LL, I'LL, I'LL..... I don't know! I'll throw it in his face or something. Or maybe something less painful but just as annoying. I'll think of something to get him back. You know, I just don't understand him. He's a pikey, but he's on the lacrosse team. It just doens't make sense to me.

- And there's something else that doesn't make sense to me here. To get into the bottom floor of this builing where I am now from one direction, you have to go up 2 flights of stairs outside before you go in the door. Then to get out onto ground level on the other side of this building, you have to go to level 5. But, to get to the building next door you have to go to level 4. And if you want to leave that one at ground level, you either have to go back through the building where I am now or go up to level 6 to get onto the street. I really can't get my head around it. Maybe it's because Sheffield is so hilly.

- Hills

- Silly hilly hills that my silly hilly house sits on.

- no h&m. Now that really is annoying

- And lastly, hills. The only good thing about them is that if you get lost, then just walk downhill and you'll end up in the town centre eventually. Someone said that to me the other day - 'just keep walking, but if you end up in the peak district then you've gone a bit too far.' It's good advise I suppose. haha

- the stupid lack of supermarkets in the centre of town. Stupid, stupid stupid. I do love Netto though, it's the greatest shop EVER. £-Stretcher is in 2nd place. Congratulations Netto. hehe

I really am sorry!

It's really hard to blog here but I'm trying my best, really! The only chances I get to use a computer with the Internet are quite rare and even then I have to stand up at one and there's normally a queue so I can't take ages. Thankfully now there isn't a queue and I have nothing else to do all day so I can devote some time to me beloved blogger friends from around the world.

So, what have I been up to since my last posts.... hmmmm.... surprisingly not that much actually.

I' ve been making some friends, some of them live really close to me too which is great cos that means I can go around to their house when I'm feeling bored. Faye lives just over the road and I've spent quite a bit of time with her watching films and stuff like that (we watched 13 going on 30 the other day, and it was GREAT. I recommend that you all go and watch it now! I don't normally like films like that, but I actually thought it was pretty good for a chick flick. Next on the list is Princess Diaries 2. Yay! Ooh and I bought Mansfield Park on dvd too, it was only £5.00 and it is BRIIILLLLLLLIIAAAAAAANT!) Hmmm.... what else have I been up to? Just the usual really I think, lectures, bit of shopping general silliness etc etc

Jade, Amy and Jarvis are coming up to stay tonight (friends from college) and the rest of them are coming tomorrow, it's gonna be great fun, I'm really looking forward to it. I'll have to tell you about it next time I get the chance..... I can feel it's gonna be a very silly night. Because I don't know anyone here apart from Jess very well, I can't really show the real me, because I think it might scare them. All in good time though I suppose. They'll know how crazy I really am eventually! hehehe

I know, I know...

My blogging has been a bit thin on the ground recently, but I do have an excuse - I can't get to the Internet that often! Don't worry though, I haven't forgotten you all. I haven't really been up to that much stuff that is particularly thrilling, nothing that you'd want to hear about anyway. Lots of people that I was at college with are coming up this weekend to stay, it's going to be so much fun, I'm excited!!

Hmm I'm in the library at the moment and am doing some work at the same time as writing this. I just read the other questions that I have to do, and now I really can't be bothered to do them. Come on, Becky, MOTIVATION!! YOU CAN DO IT!

Yeah, if I am actually gonna do this work, I'm going to have to leave this post without writing more. So ciao for now!

The two greatest things I've seen all week!

Sunday, October 02, 2005

Yay for Sheffield!

Well, what an interesting week it has been!

I moved into my house here at uni on Sunday 25th. It’s quite a good house and my house mates are really cool so it’s good. (Actually, one of them is a bit of a mystery because we hardly ever see him and we actually thought he was called Sam until halfway through the week we found out that he’s really called Tom! Oops!) I’ve met back up with Jess from college which is great, it’s really nice to have a familiar face and not only are we on the same course so have lectures at the same time, we’re both in the same seminar group which is really good! I wont have to wonder round by myself looking confused and lost – I’ll have her to do that with me! Haha

It’s been quite a strange week I guess, but I don’t think it’ll take me long to settle in and make proper friends (even though I’m missing all my old friends from Symonds A LOT – if any of you guys read this, come and visit me!!!! NOW!). I met some people from the cu last night which was good fun, thankfully they all seem really nice and I think I’ll get along well with them. Luckily one of the guys lives in Norfolk Park too so I didn’t have to come home by myself…

…Winchester and Sheffield are VERY different. I would quite happily run around the streets of Winchester alone at 3am but am constantly feeling like I’m going to be mugged or something here in Sheffield, even in broad daylight. Ok, so it’s not that bad where I live, but better to be safe than sorry, besides, I told you before that there’s a bail hostel near my house, you can’t trust anyone!

To anyone that cares….. I’m now wearing my wonderful new earrings that are pretty and that sparkle and dangle beautifully for the first time ever! YAY! I even got them in without injuring myself! I’m so pleased! I didn’t even have mummy to help me!

At the moment I like…… that I’ve made lots of new friends and actually have something to do all day long!

At the moment I don’t like……. Having to buy food from the super market that is a million miles away (oh yes, I didn’t tell you, I live on the BIGGEST HILL THERE EVER WAS and I’m only small and weak so it’s a real hassle carrying things home) and having to cook for myself.
