A few things from this year...

As my academic year starts to draw to a close, (Yes, that’s right! I only have two more weeks of lectures until next year!!!!!) I thought I would reflect on the year…

- It’s ok to slurp gravy from your plate and then lick it completely clean. Your mother is no longer sat opposite you staring at you with an angry and/or disgusted face. No repercussions! Slurp away.

- Peppers are grrrrreeeeaaatt. I’ve lost count of the number of peppers I’ve eaten this year. Eat them with everything, I do. Red wins first place, green second and third place goes to yellow.

- Libraries are the best and most fun place in the world. Don’t believe me??..... well, then that makes you stupid. Who wouldn’t agree with that? Well, you’re either stupid or you don’t have libraries like the ones in Sheffield. Yes, yes, that must be it. The Adsetts… *sigh*

- Saying ‘Good night’ before you go to bed is perfectly acceptable, even when you’re going to bed at 7.30 in the morning.

- Band of Brothers is awesome. No contest. With anything. Anywhere. Ever. It’s the best thing since sliced bread. No, wait. It’s better than sliced bread.

- Cooking is fun. But only when you’re cooking for yourself. It’s just stressful when you cook for other people, and that’s when it tends to go wrong.

- Netto = YES! I don’t care what everyone thinks, it’s AMAZING. Yeah, yeah, once you’ve got past the stuff still in boxes and the broken things there are some absolute BARGAINS.

- Chocolate is a definite must have, even if you have no money with you. There’s always a way to get money for chocolate.

- This year has been the fastest year ever since records began. Phew! I swear I was just walking out of college five minutes ago….

- The Friary. The best discovery I’ve made. A proper chippy! Woo hoo! If you’re ever in Sheffield and hungry, go there, it’s just by the bus station and Hallam University, in case you needed to know.

- The discovery of coffee!

- The re-discovery that I hate tea!

- ALWAYS keep the front door locked. Always, always. Unless you like being burgled, of course.

Hmmmm think think think...

Hmmm.

Hmmmmmm.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

My mum said something the other day.

I think I might try and do my placement in Paris. I've looked on the Internet at a few different things that are on offer to get some kind of idea. But I'm not sure. I couldn't really find that many, but maybe I'm just looking on the wrong websites. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. I don't know. It'd be pretty scary! It's not for quite a while yet anyway, so I guess I don't really need to think about it now. Maybe I should start learning some more French now though, just in case. Talking of french... I've got my seminar at 4pm but I've been in uni since 11pm doing business analysis (ZZzzzzzzzzz) with Jess but now she's gone so I have no motivation to do anything else. I just want to go home, but it'd be pointless because then I'd just have to come back in for French later. I don't want to go. I'm tired, I'm hungry and I'm bored. Oh what an exciting life I lead!!

Mind you, when this business analysis is done I have NOTHING else to do other than revise. No more essays, no more stupid business analysis or anything like it. NOTHING! Until my exams....

In other news...

We've almost sorted out our house now!! Whoop whoop!

Faye told me THE MOST HILARIOUS STORY EEEVVVVEEEEEEERRRRR about some people that she knows that woke up one morning to find that they'd accidentally put their cat through the dishwasher.... hehehe (yes, yes, I know it's horrible, but it's so funny at the same time!)

Instead of sitting here and working, I think I'm going to go shopping. I can't really do anymore business analysis now, it's too noisy in here. And it's too boring and the voice in my head is saying 'NO NO NO NO NO NONO NONONONONONONONOOOOOOOOOOOOO!'. I think that's a good enough reason to stop working. You should always listen to the voices in your head, really, you should. I do it all the time and am much better off for it. (It also explains my crazy personality...)

Guiiitaaaaarr

I've decided that I want to learn the guitar. But my lovely brother has my lovely mummys lovely guitar. It would be lovely if I could get it from him so that I can learn it. T'would be lovely I tell thee, lovely!

If you say that last sentence in a really posh English accent it sounds better. I'm in quite a strange mood today. It's really hot in here too, I think it's gone to my head. Either that or the coffee I had this morning has sent me insane. (Yes, it's true, I'm STILL liking coffee, it's not just a phase! I actually like it!)

*choir stands ready to sing...*

Haaallelujah! Haaallelujah! Hallelujah, hallelujah, haalleeey-hey hooooo yaaaaaaaaa!

I think we've finally found a house to live in next year!!!!! WOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

*we all get up and go mad jumping around the room*

Pun of the Century

(We were talking about crazes that school kids go through… at that moment in time we were talking about tamagotchis)

Person 1: They were so annoying how they used to constantly beep all the time in lessons.

Person 2: Couldn’t you put them on pause or something? Oh wait, I suppose not, you can’t exactly press pause on a real pet, could you? Like a cat or something?

Person 3: Yeah, you can press paws on a cat!

I think I was one of the only people who heard them say it, and it was hilarious at the time.

But… not now….. obviously……. *rolls eyes* I can almost sense the *after a rubbish joke silence* over the Internet. Ah well, I guess you had to be there.

Actually, you know what? I like bad jokes. I even liked the one about ‘that Black Beauty being a right dark horse’ and the one about Moses wearing a wig because half the time he walked around with Aaron and half the time he didn't…. The only unacceptable ‘bad jokes’ are dad jokes. Sorry dad, but you know the saying… if you’ve heard it once you’ve heard it a bazillionkazillion times… even though the actual words that come out of your mouth are different (almost) every time, all I hear is *blah blah blah cringe cringe cringe bad joke bad joke*. It’s the same for dad’s everywhere I think. But with my dad, bless his little (big) cotton socks, I know the bad joke is coming before the words even leave his lips, so I can prepare myself for it. I only ever laugh to stop myself from crying at how appalling they are. Would you like me to buy you a decent joke book for your birthday so that you can learn some new ones? hehehehe

You should be so proud of me! Again!

There was the tea ‘thing’ a while ago, and well, this evening I made the next step… It was quite hard for me to do, but, I, I….

*Aside* I feel like I’m in an Alcoholic Anonymous meeting here…

I DRANK A CUP OF COFFEE!!!

THERE. I did it. You happy now?? Huh pal??

I’m ashamed to admit this…. but…..

I think I liked it. It’s nothing to a hot chocolate, don’t get me wrong, but it’s miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles better than a cuppa tea. Tea SUCKS in comparison. I’m not even afraid of having to give up my ‘Englishness’ by saying that either.

But please don’t kill me Svenniepookins! *readies herself for a beating* arrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

That's insane! I wouldn't be surprised if it gets eaten by its brothers and sisters though! haha

Argh! Stupid stupid stupid!

WHY do people KEEP sending those STUPID emails around saying that msn is either going to start charging or close down or make your account stop if you don't send it to everyone on your contacts list and their mothers? WHY? It's SO rediculous.

IT IS NOT TRUE.

STOP IT!

The SAME messages have been going round for YEARS and I've recieved it a MILLION times and not one of them has EVER been appreciated.

Want me to prove to you that the whole thing is a STUPID PILE OF COMPLETE AND UTTER RUBBISH? Ok then, I will. You asked for it.

1. If it were true, the hotmail staff would tell you themselves, not rely on people's IDIOT forwards to get the message around.

2. The BBC. Hmmmm, yes the ones with the link to this did appear quite convincing, IF YOU'RE A CHIMPANZEE WITH A BRAIN THE SIZE OF A PEA! Is there not something a little odd about this page when you look at it??

It says 'fees could be introduced within 12 months'. Oh dear... NOT. They expect us to 'pay about £60 a year for extra services'... oh dear... NOT.

Look at the top of the page.

Go on.

DO IT.

Read the date of the article and then say it outloud to yourself 3 times.

Feeling slightly confused? If you are, then well done. If not, then you're MORE stupid than a chimpanzee with a brain the size of a pea. It's now 2006, not 2001, that was 5 years ago. I've been using hotmail, msn etc all that time for FREE. So, if it WAS true, I owe the nice people at msn more than £250.

Are you getting this now? Are you seeing that you're just being irritating by forwarding that email sixty-three times to the same people?

Oh yes, and another thing to add from the BBC.... I saw a lovely article on the website entitled 'Thousands fall for Hotmail prank'. Awww are you included in those 'thousands'. Feeling a little silly and sorry for yourself now, are we??

Good. SO YOU SHOULD.

Ooh... so it would appear that the old article is what they thought MIGHT happen after the dot.com crash. Ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhh..... that's clears it up. Makes perfect sense to me now!! (sarcasm intended).

3. Oh yes, there's MORE. According to most of these emails going around, you're account will close unless you confirm that you're using it by sending the email on. I haven't even done it once. NOT ONCE. And guess what?! Surprise, surprise, my email account is still active! Wahey!

So, children, what's the moral of this story? Hm?

DON'T FORWARD THOSE STUPID EMAILS ABOUT HOTMAIL CLOSING OR CHARGING

THEY

ARE

NOT

REAL!

Phew. Rant over. I can go home and have tea now.

Very gut Veekend, ja!

I had a nice weekend with my middle big sister, Sarah, in Leeds and I bought two new pairs of shoes which made it even better. I'm now bleeding because of them, but meh, it's worth it, they look nice! I'll get used to them...

I had to come back to Sheffield early though to go to Zoe and Carrie's house for lunch, it was really nice, but it was snowing and was FREEZING so I was pretty miserable everytime I had to step outside. Managed to get myself a lift to their house though (oooh yeeaaah!) other wise I would have had to spend probably an extra hour sulking, walking around in the snow with wet feet, cold hands and and a runny nose. The rest of the day was great though!

This weekend I'm going to the wonderful city of Leeds to stay with my big sister Sarah. Ooh! Fun fun!

A great weekend... spoiled by the monday morning...

I had a really nice weekend. I went to watch Sheffield Steelers vs Nottingham Panthers with Faye, Michelle and hwe boyfriend Adam and it was really good fun. I'd never seen an ice hockey game before and it was really exciting, I'd definitely go again. There weren't as many fights as I would have liked, but then there were two injuries which made up for it a bit I suppose... hehe. It was a 1-1 draw which was a bit disappointing, but they played again the next day in Nottingham and we won that one!! whoop whoop! I'm going to get the pictures that I took from Faye and hopefully I can put them on here tomorrow. And I've now decided that if I ever go to Canada, I'm going to watch an ice hockey match there. It's probably really inaccurate, but my vision of how it is there is that the crowd will be completely insane and there'll be fights every couple of minutes involving the whole of both teams each time with numerous gruesome injuries... I hope it is really like that and not just in my imagination. That's how it is in films anyway...

But... I found out today that the contract for my house for next year has been cancelled so now I have nowhere to live. The thing that makes it even worse is that they took the deposit money out of our accounts last week, before they'd even signed the contract, bit fishy or what? I better get my £275 back or there'll be trouble... You'll definitely be hearing more on this suject after I've been to see the landlord tomorrow.

What do I do?

I need to make my module choices for next year. In my fourth year I have to pick a package of modules, and I'm deciding between the human resources one and the international business ones (the modules I pick for my 2nd year determine what I can do in my last year and so on into the rest of my life...) and I can't decide which route to go down. I have a week to decide, but I'm stuck!! Help!

Human Resources....

or International Business....
