The Falkland Islands
I live with quite a lot of Falkland Island students (they come over to England because they have no 6th form school over there). Well, anyway, all that I really wanted to say is, that no matter how much they defend themselves, it wont change the image of the islands that I have in my head. From what I've heard of their conversations, which is quite a lot, they live in one of the strangest places in the world. And I'm not talking about all of the penguins and seals that wonder around either... I'm not trying to offend anyone, but as a person who has never actually been there and who consequently only has any experience of the place from the people that are here, I can say that it seems like another planet half the time.
I'm not even going to go into details about anything, but (ok I know you're not all the same, so don't shout at me for saying this) there seems to be some messed up people down there. And I don't just mean S****!(I'm not saying her name, because that's just mean!) Maybe I shouldn't be writing this on here, because some of you will probably read it, but hey, I can only base my opinion on what I've heard! Maybe I'm only ever there when someone's telling one of the more, ummm, extreme stories.
Actually, I know I'm not the only one who thinks it seems unreal. But I still love you guys, so I guess it's ok.
And I'm not going to judge you on that 'Falkland Theme Dinner' that we just had, because that wouldn't be fair. It was so gross. I know you could never cope eating that stuff everyday (especially the fish that's still looking at you while you eat it, and still supporting a rather large set of teeth). Just stick with the normal food, ok?
I'd just like to say this again: If you live in/have been to the Falklands, then don't defend it against what I just said, I know it's not like everything is wrong with it, what I've said is purely built on what I've been told about it, so don't argue.

well, firstly do u think the amount of falkland islanders u know is representative of the falkalnds as a whole? NO.
as for the food it is british food cooked badly by the canteen as usual and most of what was cooked is hardly ate in the falklands-ne way we dont even get red mullet!!!!

Your opinion may be that the Falklands is not the nicest of places, but from my experiance from living there i think has made a better person. Most...no all of the most arrogant, most ignorant people i have ever met in my entire life, all seem to be from forces families in Germany. You cannot be so ignorant to say that the Falklands is a bad place because you have never experianced being there, but i have experianced German forces people, and trust me my overall impression is poorer of your ignorant impression on the falklands. Don't get me more wrong, I have met some very nice people from Germany, but overall it's not looking good for you people. Lets have more nice things to say from you German people than ignorance...yeah...why not, hey?
Well, what to say, i dunno what made you come up with that blog, maybe you just forgot that most of your friends at college are from the falklands, and with your blog, you just pissed off a lot of people. maybe one day when you finally visit, and realise that you are talking bullshit! the only reason that the storys you hear are so EXTREME is because they are the only stories that people every bother telling, no matter were you are from!!!!
